How would you feel if you didn't brush your teeth for 3 years?

Bad breath in pets isn't normal

The most common cause of bad or 'fishy' smelling breath in dogs and cats is gum disease, which is estimated to affect approximately 80% of dogs and 70% of cats over the age of three years. If your pet has bad breath, it's time to schedule a dental check up with your vet.

What causes gum disease?

Plaque, a sticky combination of bacteria, food particles and saliva adheres to the surface of the tooth, including underneath the gums. When plaque is left to build up on the teeth it hardens to form a yellowish material known as tartar. As the bacteria in the plaque sits underneath the gums, it creates inflammation and begins to invade the soft tissues and bone surrounding the tooth.

Health consequences of gum disease

Gum disease results in loss of teeth and chronic inflammation that can have serious health consequences for your pet, including damage to the heart, kidney and liver. Regular dental check ups and a daily oral health care routine to remove plaque are the best way to look after your pet's oral health.

My two love these treats. I find them a bit expensive and don't buy them all the time due to that fact. They are gobbled up in no time.

My cats go crazy for Ocean Fish Greenies. In fact, one of my cats won't eat his dinner unless there are few sprinkled on top! My vet has recommended these for both my cats as they have issues with their teeth and gums.

These are good value for money. My mum was paying more for the small pack at the vet. So I purchase these at better value here in the 510g petite for my Mum's small dog Ollie and he does a Greenie dance every time he;s due for one. He loves his Greenies. He's so cute! :)
