1. You know what you're getting
Adult cats have already developed their unique purrsonality and individual quirks, so whether you are after a snugglepuss or an acrobatic athlete you know exactly what you are getting!
2. Toilet training taken care of
Chances are adult cats up for adoption have already got the litterbox thing sorted. That means less cleaning up and more time for watching cat videos on YouTube!

3. Low maintenance, less supervision
Unlike crazy kittens, adult cats are less likely to chew on, eat or scratch things they shouldn't. This is perfect for people who aren't home during the daytime to keep an eye on things.

4. You're giving them a second chance
Adult cats can end up in a shelter for lots of reasons, they may have been abandoned by a previous owner who moved away, their elderly owner may have passed away or they could even just be left over from last year's batch of shelter kittens.
Whatever the reason, adult cats have a much lower adoption rate than kittens, so by adopting them you really are saving a life.
5. Less sleepless nights
Kittens love to run around and get into mischief, although this is super cute, the novelty can wear off when they are running the Indy 500 or climbing the curtains at 2am.
Adult cats will generally prefer just to snuggle in at the foot of the bed for the night meaning more sleep for you!
Make your adoption really count and adopt an adult cat! They still have plenty of love to offer and make excellent companions. Check out the RSPCA, Animal Welfare League, PetRescue and other local rescue organisations to find the puurfect adult kitty friend for you!
