Protection against fleas and ticks

Frontline is a well-established brand that produces flea and tick prevention for dogs. Frontline Original, Frontline Plus, and Frontline Spray are all available for as topical treatment and prevention of fleas and ticks.

How to apply Frontline

Frontline is available as a spot-on squeeze tube, or as a spray. Spot on treatments are applied by parting the hair on the back of the neck, and squeezing the contents of the tube onto the dog's skin. Spray treatments are applied by spraying directly onto all areas of the coat and rubbed in thoroughly.

What's the difference between Frontline Original and Frontline Plus?

Frontline original was the first Frontline product to be released, and has basic flea and tick prevention, but only kills adult fleas. Frontline Plus was released in 2000 and contains s-methoprene, which kills fleas at all stages, rather than just adult fleas. It is typically recommended to only use Frontline Original on indoor animals, whereas Frontline Plus is more suitable for animals that spend time outdoors. Both products need to be applied fortnightly for tick prevention.
