Frequently Asked Questions
What are the signs of dehydration in dogs?
Our dogs can suffer from dehydration too, for numerous reasons. Dehydration can be mild, moderate or severe. Similar to people, it can make your dog feel very unwell and, in some instances, can even be life-threatening. There are several signs to watch for if your dog is dehydrated:
- Sticky or dry feeling gums
- Loss of appetite
- Prolonged skin tent (skin when pinched up, it stays up and doesn't spring back to normal)
- Dry nose
- Sunken eyes
If you ever notice any symptoms of dehydration in your dog, or your dog appears unwell, do not delay veterinary attention.
