What is the gut microbiome? The gut microbiome is made up of communities of micro organisms (bacteria, fungi and more) which naturally live in the gut. It has long been understood that a healthy microbiome plays an important role in gut health, however recent research has demonstrated that the microbiome can be manipulated in a number of ways to improve not only gut health, but health of other organ systems as well.

Using ActiveBiome+, Hills Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome helps to feed the beneficial organisms within the gut microbiome to help improve digestive health and reduce the ocurrence of digestive upsets. Gastrointestinal Biome is also enriched with high levels of the anti inflammatory omega fatty acids DHA and EPA to soothe the digestive tract, along with an ideal blend of soluble and insoluble fibre to promote optimal stool quality and regular bowel movements, plus S+OX SHIELD technology to promote a urinary environment which reduces the risk of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals forming.
