Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canin Veterinary Mobility Support C2p Plus Dry Dog Food

Royal Canin Mobility C2P+ is formulated to help improve the mobility and quality of life of dogs suffering osteoarthritis as well as supporting the joints following orthopaedic surgery or trauma. Mobility C2P+ is designed for dogs of all sizes and breeds, it is an updated formula that replaces both the old Royal Canin Mobility Support and Mobility Support Large Breed diets.

Osteoarthritis is the most common cause of chronic pain in dogs. It affects 20% of dogs over one year of age, and is in the top 10 health problems diagnosed in dogs over seven years of age.

Symptoms of Osteoarthritis:

  • Stiffness when rising from rest
  • Reluctance to climb stairs or jump in the back of the car
  • Reluctance to walk, run and play
  • Lameness and reduced mobility
  • Pain when affected joints are touched
  • Changed behaviour due to pain, for example withdrawal or aggression

There are many factors that predispose pets to developing osteoarthritis. Obesity and developmental orthopaedic diseases like hip and elbow dysplasia are common causes. Previous trauma to the joint from accidental injury or surgery can also play a role. Once the joint is damaged or placed under excessive strain, damage occurs to the chondrocytes, the cells that create the cartilage that cushions the joint. The damaged chondrocytes release substances that result in inflammation of the joint which begins a vicious cycle of deterioration. Over time the cartilage disappears resulting in reduced mobility and pain.

Mobility C2P+ contains a new an innovative joint support complex, C2P+, which is composed of turmeric extract, green tea polyphenols and hydrolysed collagen. This exclusive joint complex has been scientifically proven to improve dogs mobility and quality of life. Mobility C2P+ is also rich in omega fatty acids including DHA and EPA, which help to reduce the joint inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. It is suitable to be fed long term and is formulated with a moderate calorie content to help your dog maintain an ideal body weight, reducing the strain placed on already stressed joints.
