Hill's Science Diet discontinued products
At Hill’s Science Diet, some cat and dog formulas are being discontinued as part of ongoing product updates and portfolio changes.
We understand that changes to your pet’s food can be concerning, so the team at Hill's Science Diet have outlined recommended alternative products to help make the transition as smooth as possible. If you’re unsure which option is best for your pet’s specific needs, we recommend reaching out to our Pet Circle Vet Squad or consulting with your regular veterinarian.
With any diet change, a gradual transition over 7 days is recommended to help your pet adjust and to minimise the risk of digestive upset. Please refer to the section below for guidance on how to transition your pet to a new food.

Hill's Science Diet specialty range changes
From October 2025 through to mid 2026, you will notice some changes to the Hill's Science Diet Specialty range.
These changes are part of Hill's continued efforts to increase the palatability of their range and their commitment to providing pets with high quality, science-led nutrition.
Changes to the Hill's Specialty dry products include minor formulation upgrades, and a change to the kibble size and shape in some cases. The back of the pack has also changed, so this can be a good way to tell if you've received an updated formula.
In all cases, a 7 day transition from the old formula to the updated formula is recommended, to avoid dietary upset.

Ensure a Gradual Transition
Because the ingredients of these products have changed slightly or the product you are feeding has changed, to avoid any dietary upsets, we recommend that you gradually transition your pet from the old to new formula over a period of 7 to 10 days.
To make this transition possible, we recommend keeping approximately a week's worth of the old formula in reserve.
