Looking for something more specific? We stock a wide variety of freeze-dried and air-dried specially designed cat food including:
As the name suggests, freeze-dried cat food is dried using very low temperatures, using the process of sublimation. This preserves the taste and nutritional integrity of the ingredients, while also extending the shelf-life of the diet. To achieve this, water, in the form is ice is removed under low pressure. This also means that freeze-dried food and treats will usually re-hydrate very well.
Air-drying cat food is a slightly different process again. Water is removed from the raw cat food through evaporation. The food can be placed in drying chambers where air is circulated to preserve the cat food. Low-heat temperatures are used to achieve this.
Both freeze-dried and air-dried methods remove moisture from the food through very gentle methods. The air-drying method will use very low-heat temperature to achieve this and ensure the cat food is safe to feed. The benefit is that air-dried diets will not need rehydrating, and is ready to feed your cat. Freeze-dried food uses very low temperatures to remove water from the diet, but it will require adding water when you feed it to your cat. Both methods will still protect the integrity and taste of the cat food.
