Best carob dog treats based on our customer reviews
Doggylicious Love Drops Carob | My kelpies LOVE chocolate. They quite like carob too, but don't leave the Lindt laying around! These are great treats. Perfect for training as they're bite-size & easy to store & distribute. I bought the black dog ones first but prefer these just slightly. The size/shape is just a little better albeit not super consistent. Don't leave them in the heat of course, or within arms reach of humans! They've been mistaken for human choc treats a few times. Haven't tasted them myself but they smell pretty good!!! Lol - MADISON |
Blackdog Carob Buttons | My little Maltese cross just loves these as an after dinner treat. They stop her from wanting the people chocolate which is a big no no. - DAYLE |
Lolly Dogs Party Mix Drops | Our Rough Collie goes absolutely crazy for them and loves them. This is a treat that he will always do a trick for. - KIRRALEE |
Bell and Bone Carob and Ginger Superfood Dog Treats | Great for sensitive tummies... perfect for my dog. - JESSICA |
Frequently Asked Questions
What is carob?
Carob is a similar tasting substitute for chocolate, sourced from the fruit from the carob tree. It is different to chocolate that contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to dogs. This makes carob a safe alternative for dogs. In addition to being tasty, it is also loaded with antioxidants. If your dog has any dietary sensitivity or history of pancreatitis, these may not be suitable and it is best to consult your treating veterinarian.
Can you give a puppy carob dog treats?
Yes, carob is safe to give to puppies; however, there are a few things to remember. Puppies can be quite sensitive to any dietary changes and rich treats. Carob treats are often made with other ingredients like oils, fats, sugar, which can cause a tummy upset. If you do give your puppy carob treats, it is best to do in moderation and if any gastrointestinal upset occurs to stop giving the treat.
